Our story

Thirty years of showing up.

Michael Trust was founded in 1995 to provide a home for older people who had nowhere else to turn. From its base in Panjapatti, the trust has grown into a residential home serving more than 25 elders from Dharapuram and the surrounding villages.

The home is supported by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment through the AVYAY-IPSrC programme. But the quality of life here depends on people as much as funding: the staff who know each resident's habits, the doctor who visits regularly, and the volunteers who bring energy and company.

We believe ageing is not a problem to be managed. It is a stage of life that deserves comfort, respect and a genuine sense of belonging.

Our mission

To give older people a safe, dignified home with good food, medical care and companionship, and to ensure they are treated with the respect and affection they deserve.

Our vision

A society in which no elder is left without a home, a caregiver or a community.

What guides us

Values we try to practise, not just publish.

These principles shape how we care for people, spend money and work with families and partners.

Compassion

We begin with empathy — for the body, the memory and the mood.

01

Respect

Residents' choices, routines and belongings are treated as their own.

02

Reliability

Care is present every day, not only when it is convenient.

03

Connection

A home should be a place of company, celebration and shared life.

04
